Free Family Fishing Weekend in Manitoba
Get ready to cast a line during Manitoba’s Free Family Fishing Weekend, happening June 14–16, 2026. For three days, anglers of all ages can fish without a licence on lakes, rivers, and streams across the province—making it the perfect opportunity for families and beginners to experience fishing together.
This province-wide event encourages outdoor fun while showcasing Manitoba’s incredible freshwater fishing opportunities. Whether it’s your first time holding a rod or a yearly tradition, it’s a great way to enjoy nature, bond with family, and maybe even reel in walleye, northern pike, or perch.
What You Need to Know
- No fishing licence required during the weekend (excluding national parks)
- All regular fishing regulations still apply, including size and catch limits
- Open to residents and visitors of all ages
